It seems like the world is becoming obsessed with the ever ‘tacky’ animal print trend, as proved by designers like Versace and Neil Barrett on their Autumn Winter 19′ runway shows in Milan Fashion week. Even VOGUE agrees on this trend.
This classic print has always been on trend in womens fashion, but not so much men, as it is bold, extravagant and deemed tacky in common fashion terms.

I asked my instagram followers what they thought about this trend. I had 752 people responding to this pool. The result was pretty much split right at the middle with 57% of people agreeing that it was a trend they would get into. I honestly did expect majority of guys to disapprove of this trend.

So what does this mean? My guess is that it would be a trend high street stores roll out in the summer more than in the winter. So get ready for a wave of animal printed shirts and beach shorts, very much like what is already done with tropical prints in the summer.

How to style Animal Prints

If you will be including animal prints in your wardrobe, my advise is not to go overboard.Make the print the focal point of your outfit and tone down the look with plain black, greys and browns.

For a more subtle look, animal print scarfs are a must have as it would allow you bring muted monochrome outfits like an all black ensemble to life.

You can be daring and edgy with closing prints and patterns like Versace did with their AW20 runway styling. There is pretty much no rule here, just have fun with your prints and colours, as long as you execute it with confidence.
